Rodney leads Monroe past Fulton
The Tribunes improve to 6-2 on the season.
JOHNSTOWN, New York - Lanay Rodney had 26 points and nine rebounds to lead the MCC women's basketball team to an 82-72 win over Fulton-Montgomery Community College Wednesday evening.
The freshman forward finished 10-of-14 from the floor and pulled down five of Monroe's 19 offensive rebounds. Rodney also added a pair of 3's and hit 4-of-5 free throws for the Tribunes (6-2).
MCC jumped out to a 27-19 lead after the first quarter before going cold much of the second and third. The Tribunes defense took over down the stretch, holding the Raiders to just 12 points in the final frame to clinch the win.
Shalix Hines and Erica Abitante added 10 points each for Monroe. Torrie Cash, Kathryn Kanhoye, and Torrie Cash chipped in with eight apiece to pace a balanced attack.
Cash also pulled down a team-high 12 rebounds to go along with five assists. Billings-Harrison added eight boards.
