Tribunes sweep Mercyhurst to stay unbeaten

ROCHESTER - The MCC volleyball team reeled off its 11th straight win to start the season, defeating Mercyhurst North East 3-0 in a Western New York Athletic Conference match Wednesday evening.

The Tribunes (11-0) prevailed 25-16, 25-13, 25-23. Monroe has yet to drop a set this year.

Dayle Taber had 15 kills and four blocks  and Rose Ayala added a double-double with 10 kills and 12 digs for MCC. Ayala also chipped in with three aces.

Montana Vescovi dished out 38 assists and Rachael Nicholls contributed 15 digs. Candice Greer added five kills and three blocks.

The Tribunes host a Region III pod meet on Saturday. The all-day event kicks off at 10 a.m.
